Thank you Jack’s Mannequin for everything.
I can’t look back on the past seven years of my life and find a memory that doesn’t involve Jack’s Mannequin or what has come from it. It was really sad hearing that Jack’s Mannequin has retired.
Because of Jack’s Mannequin:
- I met the greatest people in the world who are my best friends.
- Co-Founded an organization for young adult cancer research.
- Worked for the Dear Jack Foundation and traveled the country.
- Found my passion for photography.
- Inspired me to work in the non-profit sector which is where I am working now.
I’ve been to over fifty Jack’s Mannequin shows and have a vault of photographs that will live forever. But putting everything aside, I am most grateful for the group of friends that came out of Jack’s Mannequin. We’ve been friends for seven years and we’re like a family. We’ve traveled up and down the east coast, California for the December 2nd show, and finally, with Leah and Kathleen, we traveled the country on the Vans Warped Tour, all because we met through Jack’s Mannequin/Something Corporate. Got to know Andrew and become great friends. These last seven years shaped who I am as a person and I can’t imagine the next seven years.
When The Academy Is… broke up, I had a similar post so I suppose some of this may be redundant. But it was good to write about it. So, thank you Andrew for changing my life with your music and can’t wait for what’s next.
